ICS launch brand new staff networks – all are welcome
Welcome message from Dr Priya George, EDI Clinical Lead for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care System
“I would like to invite you all on behalf of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team to the launch events of our two brand new staff networks – the System Disability Network and the Primary Care Diversity Network. Both events will take place on Thursday 12 May 2022.
“First up, we have our System Disability Network launch which will take place in the morning of the 12 May on MS Teams. We will be hearing from Dr Bora (a retired GP, motivational speaker and author of “The second chance in life”) about his journey through disabilities, overcoming despair and embracing hope.
“Then, in the evening we will be launching our Primary Care Diversity Network which is a hybrid event via MS Teams and face to face at the Mytton and Mermaid Hotel in Shrewsbury. Please do register for the event if you are attending in person as there will be refreshments served- all you need to do is click the link on the flyer and it will direct you to the registration page.
I am excited to announce our two keynote speakers Dr Partha Kar (National Director of Equality for the Medical Workforce and Consultant Speciality Advisor for Diabetes for NHSEI) and Dr Zoe Norris (GP, Wellbeing Lead at Humberside Local Medical Committee) who will be sharing the racial discrimination survey findings from her region as well as the projects she’s working on.
“I encourage you all to join us for these events, which we hope will be stimulating, thought-provoking and inspiring for us all.”
