Cymone Argent has a background of working in research. After marrying and having her son she took a career break as she knew she wanted a career change. In 2014 she heard about a new role within health care, Physician Associates. Initially she thought it sounded interesting and so researched the profession, what the training involved and then applied. She started a two-year postgraduate course in the Autumn of 2015 and qualified as a Physician Associate in September 2017.
After qualifying she completed the Staffordshire primary care Physician Associate Internship Programme. She was part of the first cohort and worked in both primary care and mental health. Subsequently she applied to Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital and now works as a rotational Physician Associate. She has worked in Respiratory medicine, Stroke, Renal, Cardiology, Endocrine and currently is working in Gastroenterology.
She loves working as a Physician Associate and in particular working with patients. She is also passionate about the role and wants to support and promote the profession. She was seconded to her current role in July and works two days a week within the STWTH as a Physician Associate Facilitator.
