New wellbeing offer for ICS colleagues – Stress Management and Burnout Prevention
When: Monday 25 April 2022 10:30-12pm
For: ICS staff
Where: Virtual event
Organised by: ICS People Team
April is Stress Awareness Month and as such the People Team are launching their new wellbeing offer for 2022/2023 for all staff across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin ICS.
Kicking off on Monday 25 April, the first event is a training session consisting of two online webinars. The training will be delivered in a light and supportive manner, and aims to empower all staff to learn how to regain balance and positivity. Stress at its highest-level leaves us with a feeling that we are losing control, and this training is aimed at equipping everyone with key tools that will improve coping strategies.
The first session aims to identify what stress is, how it makes us feel and how we can be in control of the stressors within our lives. The follow-on session on Tuesday 4 May aims to understand burn out, the key signs and also how we can take action to prevent feeling this way. New tools will be explored such as Job Crafting (Re-thinking), Johari’s Window and Active Coping.
Stress is one of our greatest public health challenges, but it still isn't taken seriously compared to physical illness. Stress is a significant factor in mental health problems like anxiety and depression, and is also linked to physical problems such as heart disease, insomnia, digestive issues, and problems with our immune system.
The month of April is our opportunity to help break the stigma, to talk about stress and its effects openly with friends and colleagues, and show compassion to those who are feeling anxious.
